La jeteuse de sorts

Picking at random, we see the angry mob of peasants attacking the witch's home with pitchforks and fire; the use of chapter heading titles (at least for the English language version I looked at ), and a rather languid approach to mob violence: they set the witch's house on fire, then do nothing while she strolls out of the place, past them, and to the river where she climbs into a boat and makes her exit, stage right.
